DEPARTMENT OF EMPLOYMENT AND LABOUR: UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE FUND (UIF) HAS VACANCIES

The Department of Employment and Labour in South Africa invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for multiple positions currently available within the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF). Available Positions:

  1. Client Service Officer: Quality Assurer
    Number of Posts: 59
    Salary: R269,499 per annum (Level 07)
  2. UIF Claims Officer: Paymaster
    Number of Posts: 37
    Salary: R269,499 per annum (Level 07)

Minimum Requirements for Both Positions:

  • A Senior Certificate / Grade 12 / Matric qualification.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the Unemployment Insurance Act and related policies.
  • Knowledge of the Batho Pele Principles, the Public Service Act, and the Public Service Regulations.
  • Sound understanding of departmental procedures and UIF processes.
  • Basic to intermediate computer literacy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply legislation and policies accurately.
  • A client-oriented mindset and the ability to work well within a team.
  • Previous relevant experience in a similar role within the public service sector will be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

For Client Service Officer: Quality Assurer

  • Conduct quality assurance assessments on UIF claims and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with UIF regulations, policies, and service delivery standards.
  • Identify and correct errors in claim submissions and provide feedback to relevant units.
  • Maintain accurate and updated records of all quality assurance activities.

For UIF Claims Officer: Paymaster

  • Process and manage the payment of approved UIF claims.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate payment of unemployment benefits.
  • Handle inquiries related to UIF disbursements and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Reconcile payments and assist with audits and reporting.
